LEGENDS OF THE SHADOWS

2025

  • Mothman

The Mothman is a winged, humanoid cryptid legend, often described as a tall, dark figure with glowing red eyes and a wingspan of 10 feet, said to have been sighted in Point Pleasant, West Virginia, in the late 1960s.

Music will feature bluegrass, folk, and country.

  • Chupacabra

The chupacabra, meaning "goat sucker" in Spanish, is a mythical creature in Latin American folklore often described as a fanged beast that attacks livestock and drains their blood, with descriptions varying from reptilian to canine-like, sometimes with spines or ridges down their backs.

Music will feature traditional mariachi inspired Mexican folk music.

  • Nessie

The Loch Ness Monster, often nicknamed "Nessie," is a mythical creature said to inhabit Loch Ness in Scotland, frequently described as a large, long-necked, serpentine creature with one or more humps. Some descriptions include a black, scaly dot in the water, a whale-like object, something with an elephant-like head, and something like an upturned boat.

Music will feature lush harmonies and melodies found within the Scottish folk tune Loch Lomond.

  • Bigfoot

Bigfoot, also known as Sasquatch, is a legendary, large, hairy, ape-like creature said to inhabit the wild, forested areas of the Pacific Northwest, with descriptions ranging from 6 to 10 feet tall, covered in dark hair, and having large feet.

Music will feature energetic movement through the forest as well as power chords to represent Bigfoot’s mastery of the landscape.

  • Why this show?

This show dives into the lore, mystery, and intrigue of cryptids. Cryptids are mythical or supernatural creatures whose existence is claimed but lacks scientific proof, often appearing in folklore, legends, and urban myths. This show will take the viewer on a hunt across various landscapes to showcase four iconic cryptids and music from those cultures. This exploration will allow us to challenge our band with new musical genres, styles of body movement, and performance challenges.
